Germaine de Staël / Schweizerische Akademie der Technischen Wissenschaften

Das Programm “Germaine de Staël” fördert die Zusammenarbeit zwischen französischen und schweizerischen Forschern und Forschergruppen durch Vergütung der dabei anfallenden Reise- und Aufenthaltsspesen. Schweizer Teilnehmer werden mit ungefähr 4500 Franken je Projekt und Jahr gefördert.

Auf französischer Seite wird das Programm vom Centre français pour l’accueil et les échanges internationaux (Egide) betreut.

Teilnahmeberechtigung

Die Ausschreibung richtet sich an jede öffentliche oder private Forschungseinrichtung (Hochschulen, Universitäten, Forschungsinstitute, Fachhochschulen und Firmen). Alle wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen sind zugelassen, einschliesslich der Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften. Wichtig: Die Dossiers müssen sowohl auf schweizerischer als auch auf französischer Seite eingereicht werden. Schweizer Kandidaten sind gebeten, sich zu vergewissern, dass ihr französischer Partner das Dossier auf französischer Seite eingereicht hat.

Auswahlkriterien

Das Projekt “Germaine de Staël” wird jährlich ausgeschrieben. Instanzen beider Länder entscheiden gemeinsam über die Annahme oder Ablehnung eines Antrags. Neben der wissenschaftlichen Qualität gelten folgende Bewertungskriterien: (more…)

Chatstudie

Worum es geht:
Für eine aktuelle Untersuchung am Institut für Psychologie der Universität suchen wir StudienteilnehmerInnen. Die Studie beinhaltet ein diagnostisches Interview, das Ausfüllen von Fragebögen und eine kurze Chat-Aufgabe am Computer. Dafür brauchen Sie keine Computerkenntnisse.

Wer kann teilnehmen:
Um an der Studie teilzunehmen, sollten Sie folgende Kriterien erfüllen:
- Deutsche Muttersprache oder sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse
- 20 – 30 Jahre alt
- Single und heterosexuelle Orientierung

Entlohnung:
Für die Teilnahme an der Studie werden Sie mit CHF 20.- in Bar und einem Gutschein im Wert von CHF 20.- für die Papeterie “Papyrus” entlohnt. Unter allen Personen welche die obenstehende Umfrage ausfüllen, wird ein iPod Shuffle verlorst.

Dauer/Ort:
Das Experiment dauert ca. 60 bis 90 Minuten und findet am Institut für Psychologie der Universität Basel (Nähe Burgfelderplatz) statt.

NORDES’09 Engaging Artefacts

Design research aims to provide new insights to the ways in which we understand – and do – design. The conference invites contributions from researchers in universities, design schools and industry who share an interest in understanding and developing design as a trans-disciplinary practice that is always in the making. The scope of the conference reaches beyond the traditional design disciplines and includes other research areas with mutual interest in design research and engaging artefacts. NORDES ’09 directs its interest towards the diversity, challenges and emerging practices and understandings of design. International Conference on Digital Interactive Media in Entertainment and
Arts (DIMEA 2008) has been published online at the Conference Web site at

The Advance Program includes numerous opportunities provided by DIMEA 2008 to its participants to gain significant know-how and experience through a rich pool of parallel organized events to attend. Innovations, new research approaches and practices will be presented in focused technical oral sessions, which will offer a wide coverage of the DIMEA 2008 scientific and technological areas, including edutainment, games, interactive storytelling, digital art, enhanced visualization, collaboration spaces, virtual and augmented reality, advanced interaction, etc.

Two Special Sessions in the areas of User Centric and Personalised Multimedia Service Platforms and Mobile Mixed Reality Games and a Technical Workshop on: Pervasive Awareness applications: addressing their Aesthetic and Ludic aspects will further enrich the conference technical program.

For a portion of the global population, communication capabilities have reached the status of a commodity. Some of us can afford a complex portfolio of communication genres, such as voice over mobile networks, voice over IP, e-mails, sms, mms, instant messaging…The list is long and diverse, and we, as members of the industrialized society, have developed a vocabulary and a semantics of communication genres. These guides our use of one or another particular genre according to the context, to our recipient, to our personal lifestyles and objectives for self-expression and communication. One could actually say that we have developed a culture of communication around the media we can dispose of. The RCA Helen Hamlyn Centre is pleased to announce a first Call for Papers (http://www.hhc.rca.ac.uk/1350/all/1/call_for_papers.aspx) for Include 2009 Inclusive Design into Innovation: Transforming Practice in Design, Research and Business, to be held at the Royal College of Art, London.

Include 2009 will be chaired by Professor John Clarkson (Engineering Design Centre, University of Cambridge), Steve Wilcox (Design Science) and Melanie Howard (Futurologist and author of ‘The Future Unwrapped’).

Professor Alastair Macdonald (Glasgow School of Art) will chair the Review Committee and act as rapporteur of the event, drawing together the key areas of design, research and business and their role within innovation through inclusive design.

Include 2009 will be the fifth International Conference on Inclusive Design and aims to engage those involved in all aspects of user-centred design practice, research and advocacy. (more…)
